Hardy, Spiderwire and Hodgman Honored
EFTTEX, the European Fishing Tackle Trade Exposition, concluded on Sunday their 35th annual trade show in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with the announcements of the new product award winners. Best Fly Reel honors went to Hardy for the Ultralite ASR large arbor reel. Spiderwire Stealth Smooth was named top braid line. It marked two consecutive years for Spiderwire to take top honors in the category. The Best Clothing category was won by Hodgman’s Vion H-Lock Wade Boots.
A runner-up award went to Abu Garcia for its MGXtreme low profile bait cast reel. Also honored were the PENN Slammer III spinning reel and Berkley’s Direct Connect CM90 monofilament fishing line.
EFFTEX is a forerunner to the North American fishing trade show, the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trade (ICAST) show, scheduled July 13-15 in Orlando, Florida. Pure Fishing will be introducing new baits, line, rods, reels and accessories at ICAST, attended by top buyers, retailers, wholesalers and media.

The Hardy® Ultralite® ASR system features a fast, easy-to-use spool release that actively frees the spool at the turn of a knob. To replace the spool simply slide back in place and reverse the knob. No tools are required nor a flat working surface to control parts during the exchange.
